ethical capitalism staffing nyc jobs new york creative

] We spend a lot of time trying to overcome the reputation of a sometimes less-than-ethical industry. To that end, we'd like to take a moment to point out some major differentiating factors between Choice Creative Staffing and a whole lot of other places.

Candidates and clients alike: this entire page is for you.

  • A staffing firm that has candidates sign a "Conflict of Interest" form is, in our opinion, evil. They might claim it's so they don't send you someplace where you've been before, but that's just silly. That list is obsolete the moment the candidate walks out the door after the interview. Who knows where they'll be tomorrow? No, the only way to find out if a candidate has been somewhere before is to ask them on a job-by-job basis. It is our opinion, and the experience of our freelancer friends, that these "Conflict of Interest" forms are just ways for unethical staffing firms to compete against the very people seeking work using their own contacts.

  • Candidates need to read their paperwork before signing. Heck, companies should ask staffing agencies to show them the paperwork their candidates are asked to sign. There's stuff in there that's literally impossible to fulfill - like one competitor of ours that asks for a retroactive, full creative rights release and a guarantee of sole authorship for anything in their portfolio. Yeesh.

  • 15% is an incredibly fair permanent placement fee. That's why we start and stay there. If a staffing agency makes you negotiate, has "specials," etc., run away. Fast. In fact, run straight over here. We're waiting for you.

  • We don't price gouge. Ever. Even in situations where we've wound up with a high markup due to miscommunication, we've gone back and adjusted the rates. Karma, baby. It matters.

  • We spend a lot of time trying to be better at what we're already pretty darn good at. We look at jobs we've placed, and think about how to fill them faster. We ask candidates and clients alike to criticize and provide feedback on process and prodedure, so we can continue to refine what we do. By remaining teachable, we remain undefeatable. Rock it.
